Jason De Araujo, director of mining and operations at South Africa’s JDA diamondtooling, said the company had been involved in exploration, drilling, mining, as wellas oil and gas activities for 25 years. He said JDA’s potential in manufacturing drillingequipment for the oil and gas industries had created numerous opportunities in theIran market. Araujo said although JDA came to Iran two and a half years ago it hadmanaged to supply equipment on Iran’s market and start cooperation with an Iraniandrilling firm.
He said JDA was supplying equipment to many nations in Europe, as well as the UnitedStates and Australia. He expressed hope for a larger presence in Iran’s market, sayingJDA had held meetings with NIOC to introduce its capabilities and services. Araujosaid despite US sanctions, JDA faced no restrictions in direct cooperation with Iraniancompanies. He said JDA’s products were environmentally friendly, adding that hiscompany was ready to provide European technologies at affordable prices
